Install fans in your bathroom and kitchen. Ensure that you utilize them. Use the fan when you cook on the stove or take a shower. The fan helps the air to flow. This, in turn, helps to keep the walls and fixtures in both rooms from becoming too moist. Moisture grows bacterium, mold and fungus. The more you keep the air travelling around in your home, the less likely you will ever have mold in these areas of your home.

If you have any issues in your home such as leaky faucets, leaky pipes, windows that don't match to their frames, or windows that let in cold air, then fix them. You want to keep the moisture out of your home as much as possible.

This is because moisture breeds mold and other pathogens. Patch up the links, make repairs and put in new fixtures. Handle whatever you must to be certain that you home is free from dampness. And of course, ensure that those seals are not dirty.

Drain any puddles or wet areas. Put a light on them to help decrease moisture in addition to clean any spills. Light, specifically sunlight, destroys mold spores. So shining a bright light on moisture not only makes your home dry, but it also stop new mold from growing in the areas that once had moisture. If you use linens or fabrics to wipe down wet moldy areas, then those linens should washed with bleached or tossed out.

There are many things you can do to kill mold. If you catch it early on, there are lots of things that you can do to take care of the problem. If you don't catch it soon enough your chances of needing professional help increase significantly. Use the above tips as a guideline to help you get your mold issues under control before it's too late.
