Paddling Pool - For The Summer

By Tracey Stapleton

When that summer period arrives, there is only one thing for it - bring out the paddling pool. Many a child has been delighted by the ability to splash around in their garden pool. Maybe you had your own pool while you were young.

Most children love having a pool to splash around in. Maybe you used to jump in puddles yourself while you were younger, annoying your mother / father while you were at it. Or perhaps you preferred to make mischief, chucking anything that could produce bubbles into the sink and perhaps flushing it down the toilet too. Perhaps leaving a mess behind whilst you were finished, and some near depleted bottles of bubble bath and shampoo. Giving the kid a paddling pool to play in will help satisfy those mischievous needs.

They are much better built today than they used to be, and they come in a number of shapes and sizes. When you where a young person, maybe you had one of those pools that quickly split or got pierced and started leaking. maybe you got through several before your parents decided enough was enough and you never saw a paddling pool in your garden again.

Losing your pool was never a lot of fun, unless your parents had a knack for spending money.

Pools should last much longer nowadays due to technological developments. They are also much more generously sized. Back then as a young person, often the pools we so small and thin that you would only be submerged to your waist. It was easy to damage the pool simply by leaning against it. Today, pools can be bought that are more modelled in the style and size of a jacuzzi. Your children can be submerged to their chest, and these pools can better support their weight. Some of these pools are built large enough for even the mum and dad to enter.

The cost of pools generally start from the early double digits. Don't expect a quality pool if you are buying right from the start of the market, If you are only willing to pay entry level price, then expect to obtain what you paid for. You will be lucky if a cheap pool lasts long. Do you really want to invest in a pool with thin sides, ready to collapse? Many pools are inflatable, aside from the cheapest pools that simply need to be unpacked. A better level of support can be provided. However beware of punctures, especially in the cheaper pools which will use cheaper construction materials. The better pools are made from PVC and polyester mesh combinations or other suitably tough material, to provide strength and durability. Pools made from these tougher materials can cost into their 40s. They will be around 8ft large. This means there is amply room for children and parent to enjoy the warm weather together.

So why not give your kid a fantastic opportunity to have fun in the sun. Let them enjoy the summer with a paddling pool.
