How You Can Take Care Of Anthurium Plants

By Keola Kawanako

Anthuriums provide the perfect blossoms for Valentine's Day and are exceptional symbols of affection, due to the fact they are in the shape of hearts and they occur in the color red. They are exceptional houseplants and taking care of anthurium plants isn't too difficult should you stick to these tips.

Water them frequently. You never want to permit their soil to become bone dry, but you also do not need to drown them either. Should you let their soil become too dry, when you water them again they will have a hard time absorbing water again. But in case you don't allow the water to drain entirely, they can have problems with root rot. The soil that they are potted in is also important. If the potting soil doesn't empty nicely, you must repot your plants in a soil that empties better.

Give them the appropriate amount of light. Strong sunlight is bad for these plants, it can burn their foliage and blossoms. Bright, indirect sunlight is best. When they don't get enough light, they'll stop flowering and their growth will slow down. Usually you'll see their foliage becoming longer and turning dark green if they are not acquiring sufficient sun light. So be sure that you offer them the correct quantity of sunshine.

To ensure that they develop evenly, turn the container that they're grown in just a little bit, once every seven days. These plants grow towards the sun and this will ensure even development. Should you observe them intently, you will observe that they'll orient their leaves and blossoms to face the sun.

Clean your plants periodically. Apply a little water upon the top and bottom of their leaves and employ a soft cloth to wipe off the water. This will take away any dust and pests from your plants. This will also help to keep them healthier and make their leaves look nice and sparkling too.
