Stop Harmful UV Rays with Sunshades

By John Stabler

Sunshades not only provide privacy for one's window treatments, but also keep the unwanted heat and glare of the sun from penetrating the home. Sunshades are generally quite easy to install, and work equally as well on both the interior, or exterior of the home. Since there are a vast array of choices from which to make a selection, one must consider his or her preferences ahead of time.

For example, rollup or roller shades are popular choices as they are easy to operate. Many of these shades are constructed of PVC coated polyurethane that stands up to all weather conditions and keeps out a large amount of UV rays. Furthermore, these shades help keep you cooler in hot weather so that you do not need to use as much energy cooling your home.

Solar shades are even more effective against invasive UV rays, especially when they are installed on the exterior side of the home. The best part is they do block harmful rays form the sun without impeding your view. They will block others from seeing inside your home, but they differ from classic blackout shades because they still allow the light to stream in freely.

Sunshades are also available for cars and many people use them to keep their vehicles cooler in the summer. They can be used for outdoor functions, as well, such as trade shows or markets. Some homeowners also use them in areas such as patios, gardens, or gazebos.

Whether you need them for your windows or your business' outside promotional campaign, sunshades will keep you safe from the heat. They also offer privacy and security when you want to keep prying eyes away. In any case, your shades can be both functional as well as decoratively beautiful.
