Sonic Chasers - Get rid of Gophers And Moles Once And For All

By William White

We all like having fun in the garden. There are pests though that are such a kill joy. Fortunately, technology at these times have evolved into a much safer way of keeping away these pests by using ultrasonic devices, electronic yard fences or strobe lights. We don't have to use traps, pesticides or chemicals that are dangerous for humans, most especially for kids and the old, and for desirable creatures from the wild.

These products allow us to deal with unwanted pests in a humane and safe way and work on gophers, moles, squirrels, deer, cats, dogs, or any unwanted intruder. The ears of the animals will hear a high frequency sound or vibration coming from the ultrasonic devices. Because it pains them, they would stay away. This girl friend of mine doesn't like the squirrels in her backyard, or squirrels at all. Not only did they destroyed her garden, they also destroyed parts of the house including the chairs that were on the deck. They ate the coverings of the chairs. So, she bought an ultrasonic gadget and it was perfect! Today, she is contented and its obvious the squirrels lived to haunt another house.

Gophers and moles can create a major destruction to your garden, shrubs and vegetations. Not only do they destroy your lawn, but the mounds and surface tunnels create hazards related to tripping or twisting an ankle. Air shafts. That is what they are making. These rodents tunnel their way through that good-looking garden of yours to make air shafts for their homes underneath the ground. They can dig burrows to a length of quite a few miles with a depth ranging from two to five feet. They are born to dig and will have up to 12 babies per litter. They only eat what they can expend, so you won't see them lying dormant because they do not have fat in their bodies. The estimated yearly intake of food for a mole is 40 pounds. That is their life - eating and digging. Plants need worms to ventilate the soil for their development. Now, moles hinder these developments by eating the worms. Gophers eat roots and plant material.

The moles do roundabouts when making above the ground tunnels while gophers do it in line form but it's not quite often you see above the ground tunnels made by gophers. Moles will make a small volcano like mound, and a gopher will make a more irregular, kidney bean shaped one. Thriving on vigorous and verdant greens, these tiny creatures live beneath it. Root of trees, grains, grasses, shrubs and vegetables in diversity are what moles and gophers usually eat on. They mostly like to eat lilies, irises, tulips, carrots, peas and beans. Although moles prefer and will mostly feed on grubs, worms and insects, they will munch on plant materials. Gophers though prefer plant materials that are succulent. Do you know that gophers, moles, voles, chipmunks and woodchucks are highly intellectual beings? These creatures are notorious in their elusion from our old ways of pest control such as traps, baits and poisons.

You can easily identify that there's a gopher or mole in your garden by the way your garden looks with all the ruins, mounds and surface tunnels. Anything that is living, I value their existence by not taking it away from them. The spiders at home, I don't stomp on them, I put them out, and the snakes when I see one in the yard, I just remove them there and transfer near the lake (okay, you might think I'm CRAZY!). So, I wouldn't recommend killing them to get rid of them, but trying one of the many alternative ultrasonic devices available.
