If You Want A New Taste Try Gourmet Salsa

By Lila Armstrong

Almost any food on the menu can be enhanced with gourmet salsa. This is true whether one is hosting an intimate dinner, a party, or a reception. What can be even more of interest is that this sauce can be made with more ingredients than what is considered to be more traditional. Such as onions, garlic, tomatoes, cilantro, salt, chili peppers, and tomatillos.

In fact there are many gourmet or other kinds of chefs that are making the effort to experiment with new ingredients all the time. Thus the salsa can, at least theoretically, be made to match almost any meal that is prepared for those with good taste. Which is a definite plus then for any meal that the dish is chosen to be served with.

A few of the new recipes that are in existence have gone down the road to cool and refreshing rather than spicy and hot. Thus a most surprising development has occurred. Tomatoes are not on the list of ingredients. Instead it may contain other vegetables, fresh fruits, nuts, grains, or seafood.

A salsa that is made of fruit for example is considered as an alternative to the more conventional one that has tomatoes in it. It is served with foods that many feel are traditional to those that are said to be a bit more exotic to anything that may fall in between. The ingredients to these particular recipes can include berries, avocados, melons, pineapples, mangoes, and bananas.

Vegetable salsas in contrast have seemed to enjoy years of popularity. They have in their body components such as black beans, corn, red onions, and some cilantro for a richer flavor and a texture that is said to be interesting at the very least. It is a sauce that seems to accompany fish, chicken, and seafood really well.

Roasted nuts such as macadamia, pine, and peanuts seem to make a excellent base in a salsa recipe. As a result the taste of the sauce is a bit crisp and its texture is dense. Some of these recipes have in their composition things like pumpkin, eggplant, peaches, pears, blueberries, or blackberries to make the what hits the taste buds that much more interesting.

Some of the more traditional sauces are spiced up, as it were, by adding a topping of seafood. These toppings can often include scallops, shrimp, or crab. Citrus fruit or its juice along with a selection of other spices can also be added as well. This is done in attempt to make broiled or baked fish a bit more on the lively side.

Gourmet salsa is something that can liven up almost any food that is on the menu. Including chicken, fish, and seafood. Thus if a person dreams of giving their taste buds a real treat then why not consider adding this sauce to the meal?
