Some Gardens Take A Lot Of Creativity

By Cedrick Hewett

When you plant your own garden, you might as well make it as interesting and creative as possible. Regardless of the type of garden that you are going to grow, irregardless of its size, original and artistic steps should be taken. The following are some suggestions for gardening as creatively as possible.

Some people want a garden, but can't find a big enough area. A glass container or terrarium is a way to overcome lack of space, because it can hold your plants. A herb garden is perfect for a terrarium, and this can be a very attractive indoor garden. When you have an environment that is enclosed, such as in this type of garden, the moisture will be retained, so watering the herbs often, won't be necessary. You could use a large terrarium, such as an aquarium normally used for fish, or perhaps several smaller glass containers. When you are doing this kind of garden, it will be much easier to manage, when the herbs you are using are small.

One challenging issue that may arise is planting a garden that is on a slope. This would normally be a problem, but it can be resolved if you do the following. With small plants at the bottom, and tall trees at the top, slope variations can be diminished by planting in such a manner. You might want to also add a little stairway that people have to walk up to observe your garden. If all the space that you have available is at an angle, you simply need to make the most out of the slope itself when planting. This type of garden is more difficult to do because it requires ingenuity and original thinking.

It is not necessary to strive for perfection when doing this type of gardening artwork. As you continue to gain experience, your plants will begin to look more and more like animals and objects you aspire to create. You can also try to make them look like geometric patterns, similar to knot herb gardens seen throughout the world. When you do this type of gardening, you will soon realize that using chamomile or lavender works best. The art of creating designs with this type of gardening is something you will learn as you go along - just keep trying!

Adding a pond is one way of creating a water garden. To make your garden, and your pond, mesh properly, you need to add water lilies to complete the effect. There are also marginal water plants that are good for planting near the water. Adding fish to the pond is another way to add to the overall picturesque appearance of your garden. Plants and fish living together in a pond is called aquaponics - this is a specific branch of gardening. This combination of the land based gardening, and water gardening, is a great combination.

When you start your gardening project, remember there are no rules and your creativity can be used to make it very special. You need to make your garden as unique or traditional as you see fit. The above ideas on creative gardening are certainly not the final word on the subject; they are only meant to get you thinking in new directions.
