Shades Shutters Blinds on LinkedIn

By John Stabler

Spring is here and sun is right up back in the sky showing itself again. It has been around six months since we have felt that warmth and enjoyed it. Although sun was missed a lot but at times, its glare can be a little overwhelming. In order to be protected from that, man has created many ingenious ways to protect his home and himself from the harmful rays.

Since the time the first cave woman asked her mate to cove the dirt flooded abode, blinds and shades have becomes an important part of our houses. It is obvious that the first banana leaf that was used initially has been replaced by paper and nice woods fashioned into many style and shapes so that it suits various window patterns in homes and offices and even automobiles.

Shades are generally a fabric piece that is used to pull up or down to see or block the light or the other side's view. To help stow the fabric a spring-loaded rod is used. This mechanism is used so that the user is able to select the amount of area that needs protection from the sun rays. The shade can be locked into the required position.

While blinds are basically slats that are held together using some kind of cordage. The slats can be manipulated using this cordage depending on the requirements of the user. With the help of adjustments in it, the gap between the slats can be exposed only as much as required. It can even be completely removed out of the way by pushing or pulling the slats completely into the base. The blinds can be configured vertically or horizontally and the width of the slats can be as narrow or wide as the user wants it to be.

Whether it is defense from sun and weather conditions, simply a degree of privacy or a declaration of flair, shades, shutters and blinds are as much a portion of life as the air that we inhale.
