Deck Chair Pads

By Penny Swinton

Seating for outdoors includes the ubiquitous lounge chair, found near the home pool, on porch decks, and perhaps even on the law in the back yard. To derive the most use from such chairs, people install home shades over the area where the chairs are located. These include pool umbrellas and awnings.

The lounge chair is designed to be almost like a bed so occupants can rest their legs and feet also. This means the lounge chair is very long so that chair pads have to be up to 5 times as long as the indoor versions. There is also greater thickness because lounge chairs require more cushioning.

There are two additional properties useful for lounge chair pads because of their unique location specificity. First, they need to be fade resistant as they are constantly exposed to ultraviolet light. Second they should be very easy to clean, and stain resistant. That is, stains should not penetrate and permanently become fixed in the fabric easily.

The outer fabric for the lounge chair pad used to be made of canvas, a tough, tightly woven cotton fiber. Now manufacturers use woven synthetic fabrics like the ones produced from Sunbrella. These are easier to clean, and better for the exterior as they are more resistant to fading

Indoor chair cushions also provide an ornamental functionality by altering the appearance of a chair. You may pick the color along with the material for the chair cushion to complement the rest of your furnishings. Chair cushions are also made of complex varieties with several design elements just like sequins, patterns and frilled edges. The choice of a chair cushion could change the original look of a chair completely.

Additionally, there are a number of chair cushions that can be categorized in several ways. There are a number of people who separate them by the sort of seat they will cover. For instance, a stool chair cushion is quite distinctive from a dining chair cushion. Others differentiate them by the design. Say for example a hooked chair cushion which is made from hand hooked cotton; whilst a braided chair cushion consists of braided wool.
