Beautiful Gardens - It's a Love Matter

By Eleonor Rodriguez

Your own garden provides the best setting for sitting back and reflecting with pleasure on a job well done. One of the rewards of conceiving and developing your own garden is the pleasure that having done so is going to provide you long afterwards Just what are the measures you need to take to create your unique garden? The entire course of action can be carried out in ten basic steps. You need to clarify exactly why you desire a garden and whether it will be enjoyed with others, which will lead you to identify those from whom you may want input.

When you decide you want a back garden, allow your imagination to run a little wild, so that you will have as many ideas as possible to choose from. You should decide between a formal or casual design, but, notwithstanding, the end result will perfectly reflect yourself if it results from your own creative vision. For your back garden to be informal, it should closely imitate nature's easy, flowing lines and contours. It's crucial for you to list all the things that are considered obligatory, compared to the non-essential nice-to-have ones. You want to avoid reaching the stage where you realise there's something crucial you've forgotten, but the money has run out.

For a garden to fully satisfy you, it must be an harmonious blend of the items considered compulsory with those that perhaps aren't but reflect your inner vision. You must examine that which you already have, and make your design fit your space. Some of the things to be looked at are whether the land inclines or not, and whether it's a large or small area. Whatever you ideally want is determined during the planning stage, and that's refined in the budgetary phase when you examine what you can afford. When you figure out how much you are able to spend, you will know how many of your dream items will become reality. It may be necessary to give up something you really wanted, perhaps a gazebo or garden water fall. At a later date when you have additional money you can get these items if you still want them.

Your time and effort also needs to be figured into your budget, because you may have a time you want the garden completed. Based upon whether you have more time than funds, you will have to remake your plan. Every garden should have a center point, so you must determine where you want an eye-catching spot. What do you think, should it be a gazebo, or perhaps a waterfall feature? Your focal point is most likely the item in prime position on your list, and, of course, you don't have to limit yourself to only one.. When you start work on your garden, you need to have at least a general sketch of what goes where, so that your garden will be both practical and pleasing.

Create a practical map, with everything drawn to scale, with your house, property lines, and show where you want the focal points. Make your choices with regards to accessories and features, the colorations you want and which plants. After that the point in time has arrived for undertaking your plan.
