To make roses healthier and bloom more beautifully you need to water them regularly. You need to water it up to at least an inch weekly. That is very beneficial to roses because their roots are deeply rooted in the ground. For this reason they can still grow well even during drier seasons.

Roses' roots can also extract water that they need from the sub soil. If you water them regularly, their roots will be able to grow deeply. If you neglect this their roots will grow in shallow soil. Because of this, they will not be able to grow in drier season because they cannot get water in subsoil.

Another way to take care of your roses is by using fertilizers. But some of them are better off without fertilizers, especially when they are planted in good soil. Organisms in good soils are the one who are providing nutrients to roses. Using too much fertilizer could lead to nutrient depletion.

Plants that are fertilized regularly become more dependent on it. Only apply the desired amount of slow-releasing fertilizers during early spring just when the roses are coming out of their dormant phase. It is not advisable to put fertilizers during middle summer. Roses can adapt to any kind of fertilizers but the organic ones are better because they are safer and they can easily be digested by fungus and bacteria. Follow the combination 4-8-4 or 5-10-5 if you want to use inorganic fertilizers.

Pruning is another way of taking care of the roses and it is usually done at springtime. This is done by getting rid of the woods that are broken or diseased. This allows the roses some breathing space where the air is allowed to move freely. It will make your roses healthy.

You can shape your plants through pruning. You can do the pruning right after your roses bloom. By that, you can make your plant to develop well. Removing the flower buds will give way for a newer plant to develop and grow.
