Stars Of The Michelin Man

By Janos Vulman

Michelin was incorporated in 1888. Tyre company founder Andre Michelin published the first edition of the guide to help drivers maintain their cars, find decent lodging, and eat well while touring France. By now Michelin offers hotels and restaurant through their Giude which is the leader mystery book in gastronomic and travel industry.

Their gastronomic and travel activity is very nice for people that's why I would like to show you their book, which is the Michelin Guide. First of all Green then the Red one.

Green Michelin is published for who are interested in traveling each French region and in many countries outside France. It comes out on different languages. It describes point of interests and include background information regarding cultural heritage and history as well. Users can make their plans easily because sight are rated by the special Michelin's reliable starred system. Worth a journey rated by three stars. If it recommends a detour then you can find two stars. Interesting points were rated by one star.

While Green Guide about traveling then Red one about gastronomy. This guide shows you places from lower price Bib Gourmand to pubs or even the best restaurants. Follow us to get information why Michelin is important in the industry.

Because of their reputation the Michelin Guides are subject to increasing amounts of scrutiny and criticism. To get even a single star from Michelin is very difficult. Stars were give by inspectors. Most of the time inspectors are unnamed and anonymous. Every restaurant is inspected by five categories such as quality of foods, perfection of the cooking and flavoring, style of the kitchen, price-value ratio and the frequent of the visiting. After a restaurant getting star(s) it has to keep it because different inspectors can go back anytime.

If a chef is innovative and make some new recipe or his food has smoldering flavors than he has chance to get star.

In Spain, Barcelona we found a great one Michelin star restaurant, named El Bistro where Mediterranean cuisine mixed with Catalan influence.

At this time only 54 restaurant were awarded by 3 star, like famous Alan Ducasse chef's restaurant in Hotel Plaza Athenee, Paris which is a popular choice for the most discriminating travelers.

Most famous chefs are in this category: Paul Bocuse, Joel Rubuchon, and Gordon Ramsey.

Bon voyage and appetite!
