It does not hold the guide as well as past products. You must set it on the mid to deepest setting to not keep getting off line. Having used this edger for a year, I can say that it is suitable for light work in dry conditions. As soon as the going gets heavy then multiple passes are needed.
We got this to edge our lawn. It does a decent job.
A little difficult to use if you've never used one before, but relatively easy to use once you get the hang of it. Produces a professional edging for sidewalks and driveways. My overgrowth at the edges was substantial so I really had to labor with the manual edger. Lots of elbow grease but I managed to dig a decent "trench" at the paving. Received Black & Decker LE750 edger and it worked just fine. Had no problems at all and it will do a good job for driveway edging. Unfortunately, edgers like this were unavailable in the local market, so I bought one on line, refurbished with a 2 year warranty. After using it, perhaps twice, the present edger resembled the old edger did...it did not edge.
This is the latest version of an edger B&D has been making for at least 20 years, and there are plenty of the 20 year old models still in use. It's nearly silent, much easier to use than a gas model, and seems to cut better with less stalling than my neighbor's 3.5HP gas model.
Probably won't live long enough to wear this one out but if so I would buy another one. This is not a heavy-duty professional type edger but its fine for me.
This edger has power! And it's lightweight, easy to maneuver, and the handle folds in thirds for storage. You can trust the reviews for this product; it's very easy to use and works very well. It's not underpowered at all and cut through 3 inches of grass during my use.
If you haven't tried gas you owe it to yourself to try one. You will never go back to electric.
But the end result was worth it! My yard looks great. As a teenager, I used a manual edger. Once I left home, I left yard work to others.
Somehow with this edger, it all seems worthwhile. Remember to use Safety goggles and a face mask with this item.
