The Tastiest Sodas You've Likely Never Had

By Doug Ross

Was there ever a greater drink invented than Cola? I don't think so. The amount of soda I consume is scary, so I guess you could call me an addict.

The thing is I don't stop at cola; I like all beverages of all flavors and can't wait to try anything new that comes onto the market. I love trying out obscure brands too, and have found a few firm favorites this way.

What tips the balance for me are those drinks that use real sugar instead of all the others with the high faulting names such as corn syrup or fructose. These are meant to be natural ingredients but there is nothing natural about the way that they are processed.

For whatever reasons, there are some great tasting sodas out there that never receive the recognition that they deserve. Here are a few that I think you'll enjoy.

Root beer is one of this country's biggest selling beverages, and one of the best I've ever tasted is the award winning Virgil's. This is a delicious drink which sadly doesn't get the recognition it deserves, despite all its prizes.

From the same manufacturer comes the wonderfully named and utterly delicious black cherry vanilla cream soda. This has a sublime flavor and so deserves to be better known than it is.

Boylan's make, in my opinion, one of the best colas on the market. Their sugar cane cola is exactly what it says on the tin. The sugar cane is blended with the other natural ingredients to create a traditional cola which hits your taste buds in an explosion of flavor.

My last recommendation today is the fusion of green tea and fruit flavors that go to make the great sodas that are manufactured by Steaz. These taste amazing and are much better for you than a typical soda. The flavors include root beer, orange, raspberry and lemon & lime. These are a real treat for your taste buds.
